Large Art Deco-Egyptian Revival Bronze Relief Sculpture for Bank Building, Paris

Fabulous, stunning and probably unique, this nickeled bronze bas relief sculpture was created for the Land Bank of Egypt's office in Paris in the late 1920s, capturing the logo of the bank in three dimensions. At the center of the cartouche is a pharaonic figure, surmounted by an abstracted Art Deco geometric shape and spray of lotus flowers. Below is a winged scarab, and surrounding the figure are a bundles of reeds. The quality of the sculpture and its execution are superb, and the nickel finish gives it a brilliant glow.
