Gustavian Sofa, Original Horsehair Stuffing and Original Paint
About the Item
A charming and elegant smaller sofa/loveseat, at just 56.5" wide, with a nice deep seat, which is a comfortable height of 19". Lovely proportions, and the sofa as a whole is extremely decorative, with Classic Scandinavian carvings on most surfaces, in scraped back original paint. A beautiful example of Classic Gustavian furniture. Sturdy, and ready for upholstery over the old hand-sewn and horsehair stuffed back and seat. Cushioned arm panels have fallen away but are intact and can be reattached with pegs by the upholsterer.
