Aldo Tura
Una delle figure più enigmatiche e polarizzanti del design italiano, Aldo Tura è una figura anomala nel mondo dei mobili di metà secolo. Gli affascinanti carrelli da bar, tavolini da caffè, armadi e altri ancora resistono alle categorizzazioni e traggono ispirazione dagli stili Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Barocco, Surrealista e modernista.
Tura ha attraversato fasi distinte della sua carriera in termini di estetica, influenze e finiture, rendendo il lavoro della sua vita emozionante e vario. Nonostante queste fasi, ha mantenuto una singolare devozione per un materiale: la pelle di capra laccata . Tura fondò una casa di produzione di mobili nel 1939 in Lombardia e alcuni dei suoi primi lavori si concentrarono su tavoli, lampade decorative e altro ancora. In seguito, An He ha ampliato la sua gamma di arredi per bar, come carrelli, armadietti e accessori per bar come secchielli per il ghiaccio e shakers per cocktail. La superficie eccentrica, lucente e lussuosa della pelle di capra laccata era una costante, insieme al guscio d'uovo, alla pergamena e alla pelle.
Negli anni '50, Tura aveva iniziato a utilizzare pannelli figurati dipinti a mano sulla superficie di armadietti, , servizi (come le caraffe) e altri pezzi. Ha persino replicato opere famose di artisti come Monet e Bruegel il Vecchio e arte del Medioevo, a volte incastrando in modo giocoso i dipinti su armadi a forma di libri oversize. Anche se la sua tavolozza di colori preferita era composta da ricchi marroni cioccolato e profondi smeraldi, il suo stile rimase sempre difficile da definire.
Tura era diverso dalla maggior parte dei suoi contemporanei italiani, ma aveva un'analoga venerazione per l'artigianato tradizionale e le tecniche artigianali della nazione. An He non ha mai seguito la crescente tendenza dei mobili industriali prodotti in serie e si è attenuto alla creazione di piccole collezioni meticolosamente realizzate a mano. Questa scelta di principio fa sì che oggi un pezzo Tura sia un oggetto da collezione raro e molto ambito. L'azienda Tura continua a operare in Brianza, promuovendo l'artigianato italiano e i materiali eclettici abbracciati dal suo omonimo designer.
