At the center of the image is a large scorpion (18), flanked by a prominent tarantula or wolf spider (19) and several smaller species of orb-weaving and ground spiders (20, 21, 22). Also featured is a harvestman or “daddy longlegs” (24), and a centipede and millipede (17, 16), showing the variation within arthropod forms.
Flying insects include houseflies (4, 9), blowflies (3), mosquitoes (2), bees and wasps (5, 6), and a wide variety of parasitic insects such as lice (23, 26), fleas (15), and mites (25).
