A shingled house was chosen for its poetic location on a peninsula overlooking the Long Island Sound. With immersive views of the sea, the home sought the feeling of being aboard a ship as it sets sail. Easy, relaxed materials balance the precise, yacht-like millwork. Driftwood floors, shiny dark and light woodwork, sailcloth fabrics, polished brightwork. French modern and primitive simplicity gives a sculptural and grounded essence to the furnishings and windswept atmosphere.
