About the Item
This is a very rare and wonderful antique Egyptian Revival Bracelet with eight graduated Scarab Beetles set in 20 Karat Yellow Gold with Hieroglyphics on the reverse of the Scarabs. The gorgeous scarabs are hand carved Sandstone. The scarabs are graduated and each is carved with unique forms. The reverse of the scarabs are hand carved with wonderful hieroglyphics. The deep carving depicts horus, ankh, and many other iconic Egyptian images. The scarabs are set in high Karat Gold. There is a pendant scarab that hangs from the clasp of the bracelet. It is very rare to find these bracelets set with gorgeous scarab beetles in high karat gold and we are always thrilled when we do!
For centuries, Ancient Egypt has held the fascination of the public and continues to inspire artists and designers alike. With the discoveries of Egyptian tombs, and the treasures within, in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the exotically opulent lives of the Pharaohs were beyond anyone’s imagination. Of all the precious objects unearthed in the tombs, the lavish jewels were perhaps the most fascinating for their extravagance and never-before-seen symbolism.
The bracelet is 7 inches (18 cm) long. The bracelet is adjustable as it can be worn on a larger wrist by inserting the hook clasp along the dangling scarab chain.
The largest scarab is 3/4 inch (20mm) tall. It is 3/8 inch (8mm) deep.
The gold tests for 20-22 Karat.
