This Victorian 15ct Gold Suffragette bracelet is Circa 1900. Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking. Green is for give, white is for women and violet is for votes. Each engraved link is adorned with a beautiful Peridot or Amethyst which follow all the way around the bracelet. The Peridot is a stone of lightness and beauty and was believed to be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered it a gift from Mother Nature. Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for it’s stunning beauty and legendary powers to stimulate, and soothe, the mind and emotions. The bracelet is all original displaying beautiful workmanship from the Suffragette period. Set in 15ct Yellow Gold and complete with a safety chain too. Steeped in English history. Weighs 7.1 grams. Will fit a 6.5 - 7 inch wrist. Measures 8 inches x 10mm width. Excellent all round condition.
