Bracelet in 18 karat yellow gold, horse head hallmark. Bangle bracelet of round shape, this magnificent antique jewel is openwork with arabesques on all its turn and bordered on both sides of a double gold cord. The top of the bracelet is wider, and decorated with rose-cut diamonds and step-cut emeralds, all with descending claws. In the center of this antique bracelet, a larger emerald, also step- cut, is set with fleur-de-lis claws. It opens with a key hinge on the side, adorned with a tassel made of a heart pattern of a double safety chain. Weight of the central emerald : 0.89 carat approximately. An exceptional Georgian 20 karat gold round belcher link bracelet. Each link is chased with either star or forget me knot motifs. The scroll engraved padlock is set with five turquoise stones, set as a forget me knot, so significant as the plaited hair in the back of the locket reveals. A star-spangled barrel clasp completes this superb example of the Georgian art. A safety chain is fitted for security. The Georgian Chain There is no other item of jewellery more distinctly Georgian than the long gold chain of woven, knitted, engraved or stamped out links usually joined end to end with a decorative clasp such as an outstretched hand or a barrel studded with tiny gemstones. The more intricate of these might take many weeks to make. The pattern of the links on Georgian chains reveal an endless array of stamped dots, stars, stripes or circles that were impressed on to fine gold sheeting and almost seamlessly joined together.
