1930 Certified Natural Saltwater Pearl and Diamond Art Deco Platinum Brooch
About the Item
Art Deco diamond and certified natural saltwater pearl brooch of elegant openwork geometric design centred by two principal old European cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.94 and 1.05 carats respectively, within a finely millegrain-set surround of graduated diamonds totalling approximately 4.75 carats.
The stylised fan and fleur-de-lis motifs exemplify the refined symmetry and architectural elegance associated with the Art Deco period. Suspending a 3.47ct natural saltwater pearl drop of pleasing lustre and proportion.
Mounted in platinum and accompanied by its fitted presentation box.
The combination of bright white diamonds, delicate openwork construction, and softly articulated pearl drop reflects the transition from the heavier garland style jewels of the Edwardian era into the cleaner, more modern aesthetic of the 1930s. Pieces of this quality were intended to function both as brooches and pendants, allowing them to move effortlessly between daywear and evening dress.
Circa 1930.
