A red, white and blue enamel and 18k yellow and white gold "moon landing" brooch, featuring a yellow gold astronaut astride a cratered moon, made by the Belgian House of Leysen - created by Pierre & Jacques Leysen, 1969.

Made to commemorate the first moon landing by American spaceflight Apollo 11 on July 20,1969, when American astronauts Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin, landed the lunar module Eagle. This brooch was designed by the Belgian fine jewelers very soon after the moon landing. Only 10 of the brooches were ever made.
