19th Century Carlo Guiliano Enamel Butterfly
About the Item
Rare 19th Century Carlo Guiliano Enamel Butterfly mounted later in the 19th Century as a hat pin.
These butterfly brooches display the fine craftsmanship that Giuliano is so famous for and his talent with the use of coloured enamels. These jewels represent nature in such exquisite detail looking closely at the irridescent qualities of butterfly wings. They are decorated as much on both the front and back with engraved detail to the legs.
2.25" x 1.25". 6.75" shaft metal.
1880's Italy. Unsigned.
