An antique enamel and pearl pansy brooch, the round pearl measuring approximately 6mm set to the centre of five realistically carved and enamelled petals with a yellow gold back with brooch and pendant fittings, made in the USA circa 1900 , measuring approximately 2.8cm in diameter,gross weight 9.2 grams.
Unmarked tested as 14ct Gold, pin as 9ct Gold. Antique brooch in good condition, with indication of enamel restoration.
A pretty, antique enamel and pearl pansy brooch, from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales. This brooch is typical of the American fashion for floral jewellery at the turn of the century. Purple and white enamelled petals tinged with hints of yellow form a wonderful contrast with the delicate centre of the flower upon which rests a precious pearl.
