Betty Cooke Gold Brooch with Moonstone

About the Item

Custom made 14 karat gold brooch by the late modernist jeweler, Betty Cooke. The brooch consists of four medallions of different sizes highlighted by an oval moonstone in a collar setting. The plaques are set at different angles making for a very three dimensional composition. The brooch measures 1 1/2 inches by 1 3/4 inches. The design allows it to be worn equally well either vertically or horizontally. Matching earrings are available as 1st dibs item LU13329825502. Cooke was one of the most important figures in the mid 20th century Modernist jewelry movement. Her pieces are in the permanent collection of many museums including the Museum of Modern Art.
