Centering a shield shaped opal cabochon - translucent white in body color with spectral pay-of-color. Measuring 6.5 x 7.5 mm - bezel set in platinum with engraved scroll frame surround. Stamped 14 for 14 karat gold and tested as platinum. With maker's mark for Bitterman Bros.. Circa: 1910. Shield measures: 3/8 x 1/2 inch. Total length: 2 1/2 inches.
