Diamond floral spray brooch, circa 1850.
About the Item
Diamond floral spray brooch. Set with one drop shape old mine diamond in an open back cutdown setting with a weight of 1.80 carats, and fifty one cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back cutdown and grain settings with a combined weight of 3.90 carats, and ten round single cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.15 carats and further set with seven round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.15 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 6.00 carats, to an elegant nature inspired brooch, with a finely modeled spray of flowers and leaves with fancy shaped backholing and secure hinged pin and C-clasp fitting to reverse, approximately 4.5cm in length. Tested yellow gold and silver settings, English, circa 1850.
