Mid-Century Andresen & Scheinpflug Sterling Silver Enamel Brooch Norway

About the Item

This is a wonderful Mid-Century Modern Sterling Silver Enamel Brooch by the esteemed Norwegian maker Andresen & Scheinpflug. Pieces by Andresen and Scheinpflug are rare and highly desirable as objects of Mid-Century Modern design. Their use of silver and enamel is of the highest quality and their designs based on antique Scandinavian motifs are particularly wonderful. This is a stunning brooch with a romantic heart design. The bold use of the black, orange and green enamel colors is particularly striking. The history of the Norwegian jewelry brand Andresen & Scheinpflug spans exactly three decades, from 1936 to 1966. Founded in Oslo by silversmith Jens Ingvald Andresen (1901-1974), the company produced high quality enameled silver jewelry. Mid-century Norwegian silver enamel jewelry is now quite rare and highly sought after by lovers and collectors of vintage jewelry. Traditionally, the craftsmen of this company marked their products on the reverse side with 925 S and the initials TYA. The brooch is 2 1/8 inches (54mm) in diameter. The brooch is hallmarked 925S for sterling silver and with the TYA mark.
