It is made of white gold with 6 boulder opals and 6 ca. 0.2 carat brilliant cut diamonds mounted on each rotatable intersection. The fantastic design with its beautiful radiant stones is a real eyecatcher! Friedrich Becker was one of the most outstanding artistic personalities of our time. As an internationally renowned goldsmith, as a creator of kinetic jewelry and kinetic objects, as a designer and last but not least as a professor at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, he was influential for the art of jewelry making and goldsmithing during the second half of the 20th century. He received first prizes and top awards worldwide for his works. Important museums included his works in their collections and showed them in numerous exhibitions. Friedrich Becker was an enormously imaginative, innovative, technically and artisanal adept goldsmith and jewelery artist who, in addition to jewelery and utensils, also created a considerable number of large kinetic objects. With his developments, but also as a professor at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, he inspired a large number of subsequent goldsmiths. He enjoyed a high level of recognition, which is reflected in numerous prizes and exhibitions already in his lifetime. A special honor was the solo exhibition at the Goldsmith's Hall in London – the first ever by a German artist! Yet shortly before his death he received an honorary doctorate from the Royal College of Art in London. In the 160-year history of the Royal College no goldsmith had been granted this honor before. Friedrich Becker was probably the most important German goldsmith after the Second World War.
