About the Item
This is a stunning Art Nouveau - Art Deco Dragonfly Insect Brooch Pin with an oval faceted natural mined blue Sapphire of great beauty. The eyes are set with Rose Cut Diamonds. The wings are adorned with seed pearls. The brooch is 14 Karat Gold. Dragonflies were a favorite of the artists of the Art Nouveau period and their wonderful designs are as coveted today as when they were created. The dragonfly brooch dates to the Art Nouveau to Art Deco period, circa 1890-1930. The brooch will dance delightfully across the body when worn and insect jewelry is all the rage today!
The brooch is 2 inches (48mm) wide. The dragonfly alone is 1 1/4 inches long and is 1/2 inch tall.
The brooch has its original early C-clasp.
The brooch weighs 4.5 grams.
