Victorian Pearl 14K Gold Cannetille Stick Pin

About the Item
A Victorian 14 karat yellow gold stick pin set with seed pearls. This handcrafted stick pin is made of fine cannetille and filigree, which is applied on top of this gold pin. The filigree and cannetille work is skillfully handcrafted and gives the impression of lace or fine embroidery. The stick pin is adorned with a pearl on top.
The stick pin belongs to the regional dress around 1900 in The Netherlands. These pins were worn in pairs and were pushed backwards into the hat above the forehead needle on both sides between the curls of the ear iron. These types of jewels represent a varied and rich historical Dutch cultural heritage, worn by women in some parts of the Netherlands. It was part of the regional costume.
The pin brooch is in very good condition. Marked. Tested as 14k gold.
