Antique 14 Karat Yellow Gold Filigree Pearl Lapel Stick Pin
About the Item
This is a pair of antique 14 karat yellow gold filigree and seed pearl lapel or stick pins. These pearl stick pins, in Dutch called 'tower pins', feature seventeen bright seed pearls. Each pin is decorated with cannetille and fine filigree, while the border of these pins have scalloped edges.
These stick pins represent a varied and rich historical Dutch cultural heritage, worn by women in some parts of the Netherlands. It was part of the regional costume. The rich decorated stick pins were pushed backwards into the hat above the forehead needle on both sides between the curls of the ear iron.
The pins are in very good condition and of high quality. The gold has the Dutch Oak Leaf hallmark, stamped 14k.
