An Early 20th Century Ruby And Diamond Clover Brooch
About the Item
An early 20th century ruby and diamond three leaf clover brooch, the three faceted pear shaped rubies, estimated to weigh a total of 2.5 carats, with a cushion shape old brilliant-cut diamond centre, estimated to weigh 0.6 carats, each to a cluster of old brilliant-cut diamonds to a diamond-set stalk, estimated to weigh a further total of 1.1 carats, silver set to gold mount with a brooch pin and hook fitting, bearing Polish hallmarked for 14ct gold and silver, Warsaw, circa 1920, measuring approximately 30 x 27mm, gross weight 7.5 grams.
This brooch is in very good condition.
A striking early 20th century brooch. This lovely piece features a three-leaf clover set with three beautiful Burmese rubies and surrounded by diamonds. Each clover leaf has a vibrant central ruby set to it and a boarder of dazzling diamonds. The clover has been a symbol of luck since the nineteenth century, and this brooch has a wonderful naturalistic shape and sparkle to it. This piece comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and would look stunning pinned to the bodice of an evening dress.
