Fabulous pair of drop earrings, created by the artist goldsmith Katherine Kalled at her studio in Welfboro in New Hampshire. These one of a kind earrings has been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 and 14 karats with textured and polished finish. Fitted with post (Removable) for pierced ears and comfortable omega backs for fastening clips. Opals: The upper parts are bezel set with an exceptional pair of free forms of natural Australian boulder opals with an estimate weight of 20 carats. Tsavorites: Bezel set with two brilliant cut green tsavorites, 0.16 carats Others: The lower parts are bezel set with a pair of rough cut of natural black druzy agates gemstones. Weight: 25.5 Grams, (16.34 Dwt). Measurements: 51 mm by 27 mm (2.01 x 1.06 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark and the 18kt gold assay mark. Note: Australian boulder opal is very unique, rare and extremely colorful. Boulder opal is mined from the large ironstone boulders (big rock) under the ground and that's why we called it 'BOULDER'. Top quality boulder opal may fetch prices of up to AUD $3,500 per carat for a gem quality stone. Note: Drusy quartz is made up of tiny crystals that form on the surface of a stone. This natural formation of crystal on a gemstone's surface, or crystallization, which often occurs when water collects and evaporates on a rock, creates a sparkling dream.
