Unusual Suffragette rare Edwardian long fringe earrings. Of silver plated brass metal. With purple and emerald green faceted, varisized crystals, unusual clip back fittings. L 3.50" x W 1 ". The primary "suffragette colors" are a combination of purple, white, and green, used by the British Women's Social and Political Union, and purple, white, and gold (or yellow), used by the American National Woman's Party. These colors represented concepts like royalty and loyalty (purple), purity and liberty (white), and hope (green) or the sunflower's golden hue, which symbolized the power of the vote.
