About

1960s flower clip-on earrings by Schreiner New York. They have red glass petals and white glass stone centers which are set prong-side up - a Schreiner signature . These earrings are so fun and definitely make a statement. They measure 1 1/4" long x 1 1/4" wide. They have Schreiner's signature clip on the back and are signed, 'Schreiner' (see image #6). Excellent condition. The clips are strong.

Harry Schreiner got his start in the 1940s by designing jewelry for Pauline Trigere, Norman Norell, and Christian Dior. In 1951 he founded his own firm. Schreiner’s signature was to reverse the setting of rhinestones (point side up instead of point side down). The pieces were never mass produced. Everything was made by hand. Schreiner produced some of the finest costume jewelry ever made and the pieces are highly sought after by collectors. Schreiner ceased
operations in 1973.
