It may come as a surprise that many have argued black diamonds are much more rare than colorless diamonds. One in 10,000 natural diamonds is classed as fancy colored, and only a handful are truly black. Natural Black diamonds are somewhat different from most other diamonds in that they are entirely opaque. However, like colorless diamonds, black diamonds sparkle rainbow colors when their light is deflected to other surfaces.
