About the Item

Georgian antique cluster earrings. Exceptional antique pair, created in England during the Georgian period, circa 1785. These diamonds cluster earrings was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 15 karats and accented with applications of black enamel. They are embellished with fine selection of Dutch rose-cuts diamonds. These earrings was converted during the Victorian period from hanging to clips. Fitted at the reverse with a hinged Omega backs for fastening clips It should be noted that the diamonds used in this piece are of exceptional quality. Seeing a piece from this period with this quality is very rare and difficult. Usually these pieces with that kind of precious stones were disassembled during the later Victorian period to create new pieces. This is a great brooch of great rarity, with an excellent craftsmanship and surely a collector's item. Diamonds: Mounted in custom prongs settings, with 80 old rose Dutch-cut and lasque-cut diamonds, 5.64 carats, white colorless F/G/H color, SI-1 clarity. Birthstone: Diamonds for the month of December. Weight: 29.70 Grams, (19.04 Dwt). Measurements: 36 mm by 31 mm by 14 mm (1.42 x 1.22 x 0.55 Inches). Hallmarks: No marks, electronically tested for 14 karats gold.
