Georgian Josiah Wedgwood Ear Drops

Josiah Wedgwood began crafting his pottery in 1759. His pottery and the cameo decorations on it were made by hand to exacting standards. The father of eight children, he was the grandfather of Charles Darwin.
The color of the sky at twilight is the rich blue of Wedgwood pottery of the Georgian era. This compelling color graces these earrings formed by little bells from which are suspended free moving orbs. At top and bottom, in white relief, are daisies with gold floral centers. Similar daisies in miniature circle the diameter and the edge of the bells. Slight difference in shape is noticed under scrutiny giving proof of the hand work and period in which this jewelry was created. We were awestruck to come upon earrings by Wedgwood that have survived two hundred years. Earrings are the jewels most often lost and these have come the distance. Unique and rare, they are a celebration for Wedgwood collectors. The rich blue and white tones will add beauty to a woman of every skin tone and hair color. The condition is excellent.
