About the Item

Lagoon dangle drop earrings. Brown diamonds, zircons, demantoid garnets are set in 21k gold creative bezels, 18k gold ear wires. Hanging large blue-green sapphires are set in bezels and are surrounded by brown, blue, and white diamonds. One-of-a-kind, handmade. Beautiful sparkle and pastel colors. Feminine and elegant, these will surely start a conversation. The inspiration for these dangle drop earrings comes from Modernist abstract interpretations of nature and ancient techniques of manual jewelry making, such as bezel setting, fusing, and metal forming. These techniques were introduced by pre-Classical Sumerian, Mycenaean and Minoan cultures and built upon during Greek Classical and Hellenistic periods when naturalistic forms were introduced. My designs are influenced by the skill and the laborious attention to detail paid by the artisans throughout thousands of years of jewelry design. While inspired by history, these earrings are created for modern living and easily coordinate with many styles. ---21k gold ***I always start with pure 24k gold. By mixing it with fine silver and copper, I melt it down to 21K concentration. 21K gold is more durable than 22K but does not take away from a luscious 22K color. ---Large Blue-green Sapphires, checker cut. ---Demantoid Garnets ***These garnets were first found in 1886 in the Ural Mountains, Russia, and called demantoid for their diamond-like luster. They became very popular with European aristocracy as demantoid garnets were frequently used by Carl Faberge in his designs. After the 1917 revolution, the mining for these stones stopped and only a small production resumed within the last 20 years. These stones are sought after by serious gem collectors. ---Natural zircons ***Natural zircon is a great favorite of gem dealers and collectors because of its excellent brilliance, luster, and fire. However, it is not well known in the commercial jewelry business, and consumers are apt to confuse it with man-made cubic zirconium, a cheap synthetic diamond simulant. ---Brown diamond crystals, uncut diamond crystals ---Brilliant cut brown and blue diamonds Get them for yourself or that intelligent sophisticated strong woman in your life.
