About the Item
The earrings you see are Bog Oak Carved Earrings made circa 1850's in Ireland. The crosses are completely carved with celtic patterns and edged with pinchbeck. Above is a shamrock. The ear wires are gold. Bog Oak is extremely light in weight and will. put no pressure on your lobe. It is an esoteric material that is ancient wood that has been preserved for thousands of years by being buried in a bog. It becomes very hard and is so durable that it was used for furniture. These earrings are in excellent condition. They dangle approx 1 1/2 inches.
