Antique Pique Drop Earrings

About the Item

Elegant Victorian pique drop earrings inlaid with gold and silver in a beautiful geometric design. Pique, the technique of inlaying precious metals into tortoiseshell, was brought to England by the Huguenots when they were expelled from France in the 17th Century. Elegant, lightweight and easy to wear pique jewelry became very popular especially when traveling to the seasons in London and Bath.
