Art Deco Style Mosaic 20 Karat Yellow Gold Blue Sapphire Drop Coomi Earrings

As a child in Bombay, India, Coomi grew up a middle child in a house of nine children shared by two families. Naturally drawn to her creative side, Coomi began playing the violin at an early age and became interested in various art forms by the time she reached her high school years. It was during her summer travels throughout the villages of India when Coomi first became enamored with jewelry design. When travelling to one of these small Indian villages, Coomi noticed an intricate glass mosaic on a wall that resonated with her deeply. This design would eventually become the inspiration to use rose cut diamonds throughout many of her jewelry designs. Originally only a passion project designing for friends in New York City, Coomi realized this was the path she was meant to take. After becoming one of the first luxury designers to be carried in the Asia Society Museum Store, Coomi launched her eponymous line with luxury department store Neiman Marcus in 2005. Coomi was later awarded the Fashion Group International Rising Star Award in 2007. Today, Coomi’s passionately designed jewels have adorned celebrities such as Amy Adams, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, and Penelope Cruz, among others. The spirit of Coomi is often found in the jewels that bear her name from both red carpets to comfortable couches all over the world.
