Dubini Imperial Roman Ancient Bronze Patina Coin 18 K Yellow Gold Drop Earrings

About the Item

These Dubini coin earrings from the 'Empires' collection feature authentic Roman Imperial bronze coins set in 18K yellow gold. Coin diameter: 11mm Unique pair of earrings who's mirror like surface showcases the beautiful set of patina coins. Patina is that beautiful and brilliant kind of time-created varnish, of a green or brownish colour, which covers the surface of some ancient brass medals. It prevents them from deteriorating and is regarded as an evidence of antiquity. The agreeable appearance of this splendid rust, having rendered it particularly desirable to the taste of the Italians, they gave it the name of Patina verde, as counterfeiting the emerald. The French numismatists introduced the expression into their own language by calling it Patine. Another very attractive patina is called a desert patina. This coin was buried in a very dry climate with significant light tan dust, which is what happens in deserts. Green patina forms on coins in wetter climates. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. The Empires Collection playfully delights in ancient stories and myths whilst tapping into the rich history of Italian craftsmanship. The coins have been carefully selected for their value, beauty and as witnesses of a bygone era. Within a clean and classic context, Empires merges past and present, creating timeless pieces with an irresistible edge.
