About the Item

One-of-a-Kind Wave Earrings handcrafted by acclaimed jewelry artist Lilly Fitzgerald in matte finished 22k yellow gold. The earrings showcase two perfectly hand-carved white Ethiopian opal spheres with brilliant color-play featuring greens, blues, yellows, reds, violets, and oranges. Incredibly rare gemstones that are nearly impossible to find in such high quality, these opals must be seen in person to be truly appreciated. Round brilliant-cut white diamonds accent each earring to add just a touch of sparkle to the pair. These earrings are hand-etched with Lilly's LF signature and 22k. Each earring weighs 2.5 grams and 21.5mm long x 10.5mm wide with a depth of 10.5mm. About the Artist - Lilly Fitzgerald studied fine art and painting at museum schools in Montreal and Worcester, MA. Her studio, a renovated 18th century barn, is filled with books and objects from her travels throughout Asia, Europe and the United States, inspiring her unique designs. The master craftswoman hand-fabricates all of her jewelry in 22k gold, focusing on highlighting the finest gems and minerals that she sources from all over the world. Lilly also often incorporates vintage materials and rare artifacts resurrected from prior lives to create an extraordinary amalgam of past and present. Described as luminous and elegant, Fitzgerald’s classically beautiful work crosses over from decorative to fine art, but always exhibits exceptional structural complexity and distinction. Having received numerous awards and honors from the American Craft Exposition, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Boston Society for Arts & Crafts, among others, her work is now included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and private museum collections throughout the United States.
