Pair of Natural Saltwater Pearl and Diamond Drop Earrings
About the Item
A pair of natural saltwater pearl and diamond drop earrings, each pearl measure approximately 7.3 x 11.5 mm and 7.2 x 11.0 mm, each with eight-cut diamond encrusted white gold caps, suspended by a hexagonal openwork diamond-encrusted plaque of a geometric design, all suspended as an articulated drop from diamond-set triangular top by a diamond-set bar, all set to a white gold mount with peg and C-scroll fitting, circa 1930, later hallmarked 18ct gold London, measuring approximately 4.7 cm in length, gross weight 7.3 grams.

These ravishing pearl and diamond earring come from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. These earrings exemplify Art Deco elegance with their simple geometric shapes and use of diamond-studded platinum. The diamonds are bright and dazzling, and the natural pearls are nascent and iridescent. These earrings would add subtle sophistication to a bridal ensemble or to an evening gown.
