About

Very stylish and highly typical of the Roger Jean - Pierre haute couture style, with closely set beautifully warm, golden pastes that light up the face, highly unusual but typical of the French haute couture of this period, these 'hoop' earrings will make a wonderful and unusual flourish!
Born in 1910, Roger Jean-Pierre was one of the best known ‘paruriers’, creating some of the most fabulous jewels for the haute couturiers of the 1950s and 1960s in France. He first worked for Schiaparelli, and from 1947 until 1958, he worked for Balenciaga, Dior, Balmain and Madame Gres, amongst others. He created some of the most extraordinary jewels for Balenciaga and forged a very close relationship with Christian Dior, creating many important pieces for the House. His importance cannot be underestimated in fashion jewellery manufacturing, and, it would suffice to say, he was one of the most important, high style and rare elegance.
