18th Century Georgian Mother Child Grisaille Miniature Drawing Gold Pendant
About the Item
Beautiful grisaille miniature of a young mother and her child executed in pencil on paper mounted in an oval engraved gold frame that can be worn as a pendant.
The mother's clothes and hairstyle represent the fashion of the 1780's. She is holding a key in each hand, the two keys are connected by a ribbon. The mother holds the key in her right hand close to her heart. The child has both arms stretched out towards his mother, touching her hair and the ribbon holding the keys.
This charming token of love and sentiment is in fine original condition. The gold mount features fine engraving, the revers is covered with woven hair and golden initials.
