Antique Forget Me Not Vinaigrette Crown Pearl Emerald Ruby Gold Locket Pendant
About the Item
Very exquisite vinaigrette in the shape of a shield decorated with a forget-me-not set with turquoises. From two chains a crown is suspended that holds the vinaigrette. The three jagged crown is decorated with orient pearls, four rubies and two emeralds. Crown and vinaigrette are richly chiselled and engraved. The lid opens up to a second lid with finely engraved trellis work behind which is a compartment for wool treated with ointment. This very fine piece of jewellery with sentimental connotations has been made in England around 1830-1835.
