Large Sterling Silver Double Bison Skull Montana Belt Buckle by Ellie Thompson Limited to an edition of just 25 buckles, each sterling silver buckle is signed and numbered. Each skull is fully featured and connected to the base. Hinged loop holds up to a 1 1/2 inch strap, with peg closure. Straps sold separately. Dimensions: 4 inches wide, 3 inches tall, about a 1/2 inch thick. Each comes in a handmade American walnut box. Always Made in America. Please contact the gallery about a leather strap. Belt Buckles do not come with leather strap. ABOUT THE ARTIST: ELLIE THOMPSON An enthusiastic traveler with an adventurous spirit, Ellie Thompson is influenced by worlds both natural and modern. Her diverse styles might express the lines and geometry of her urban sphere or the organic fluidity of nature. Or both. An avid mountain biker, skier, and explorer, she calls both Chicago and Montana home. Ellie Thompson has won numerous awards for her innovative use of precious colored gemstones and metals. She has earned the prestigious Spectrum Award three times and the American Vision Award twice as well as accolades from World Gold Council and Platinum Guild International. In 2000, she was awarded First Prize in the American Jewelry Design Council's New Talent Competition, an award that launched her career into the national spotlight. A graduate gemologist with many years of experience in the trade, Ms. Thompson's extensive background not only in design and manufacturing but also in appraisal, jewelry history and auction consulting has given her a sophisticated understanding of what produces enduring value over time. She is much sought after for custom commissions creating unique pieces that speak to an individuals own taste and style. In Chicago, Ms. Thompson is honored to have two necklaces featured in permanent exhibit in the Grainger Hall of Gems at The Field Museum. Out west, her buckles have twice been honored in the C.M.
