Lush and Luscious Georgian Hair Comb
About the Item
Four rows of intense sparkle shine from this hand made and hand faceted cut steel comb while another row of varied sizes and forms of steel delightfully drop below and dance with the movement of the wearer. One way to judge the age of cut steel jewelry is by the rivets in the back that attach each bit in place. Another is to see the various cuts and sizes of those bits. Later cut steel was not made this way but glued or set in strips of same size rivets. Made as all jewelry of this period, completely and painstakingly by hand, the steel bits glow like diamonds by candlelight. Can you go for a moment to 1830 and imagine the time it took small hands to cut and facet each piece of this steel. Amazing! This is a dramatic and a romantic accessory in perfect condition.
