About the Item
23 Inch necklace of highly polished Emerald matrix graduated rondelles. These lovely Emerald rondelles are accented with rondelles of gold 22K plate over copper and finished with a vermeil and diamond studded lobster claw clasp. Green is the perfect complement with everything you wear and there is no better green than Emerald green! . The ancient Egyptians mined Emeralds nearly 4,000 years ago, and Cleopatra was an enthusiastic collector. It was thought that Emeralds empowered the owner with a view into the future and was a token of good fortune and the abundance of the life force. . For centuries Emeralds have been associated with good fortune, healing and fertility. Emerald in a part of the Beryl family. Also, in the Beryl family you will find in addition to emerald, aquamarine, golden beryl or heliodor, morganite, goshenite, and red beryl. Emerald is the traditional May birthstone. Martha lived in Brazil for over 15 years and her travels have taken her to various mining regions within Brazil, South Africa, and the Far East to examine and handpick the gemstones for the Aria Collections. Kathy lives by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home," and fell in love with jewelry design when she met founder Hans Stern, a pioneer in designing jewelry with Brazil's vibrantly colored gemstones, Mr. Stern invited her to his workroom, shared his expertise - and she was hooked. Martha and Kathy met while living in Rio de Janeiro and they have been design partners and friends ever since.
