About the Item
Custom made, highly polished 16mm spheres of Amethyst, brushed wavy gold tone accents, and gold Czech bead necklace. Statement necklace of February's Favorite gemstone, Amethyst! This unique 23-inch necklace sits beautifully on any ensemble. The gold tone clasp is box style. Amethyst is the February birthstone and is said to protect you from intoxication and evil spells. It will calm your spirit and give you focus, including keeping you clear headed and quick witted in business as well as battle! Pure quartz is colorless, but the most prized variety is Amethyst, the purple variety. It's always been considered a 'royal color' and is featured in the British Crown jewels. It was also a favorite of Catherine the Great of Russia and Egyptian royalty. It has long been used in Christian jewelry and in the Christian seasons of Lent and Advent. Martha lived in Brazil for over 15 years and her travels have taken her to various mining regions within Brazil, South Africa, and the Far East to examine and handpick the gemstones for the Aria Collections. Kathy lives by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home," and fell in love with jewelry design when she met founder Hans Stern, a pioneer in designing jewelry with Brazil's vibrantly colored gemstones, Mr. Stern invited her to his workroom, shared his expertise - and she was hooked. Martha and Kathy met while living in Rio de Janeiro and they have been design partners and friends ever since.
