ABOUT THE DESIGNER Australian born and bred Jane Magon jewelry designs are fueled by her prior work and life as an art history author and academic, teacher and world traveler. She was raised in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and then moved Goroka in the Eastern Highlands during her teenage years. Her studies took her to Melbourne and then after she was married she took extensive trips abroad and to remote villages in Australia while raising four children. Her jewelry collection, under her own name, is informed by her multi-cultural life. Her aesthetic is bohemian elegance --the ability to create innovative, powerful designs with extraordinary materials, hand-selected precious gems and beads, gold and silver, lava and meteorite combined with carved stones, animal tusks, and teeth from antiquity. Jane’s sense of color and her juxtaposition of different elements creates a unique feeling for each woman who wears her pieces—luxe gems mixed with rough-hewn organic stones and elements allow for a sophisticated nonchalance.
