Antique Red Coral 14K Gold Children's Necklace, Netherlands
About the Item
This antique late 19th century coral children's necklace is created with a 14 karat gold clasp. The beautiful four-strand coral necklace is strung with small coral beads and the strands are intertwined with each other. The clasp has a beautiful wavy design and set with a coral cabochon in the center. The coral beads differ slightly in color.
The child in the portret is Catharina Elisabeth Rente Linsen, 1831. This painting is a collection from the Teylers Museum in Netherlands. In the 16th century, the traditional costume was created in the Netherlands, including jewelry made of coral, which lasted until the 20th century. These types of jewels represent a varied and rich historical Dutch cultural heritage, worn by women in some parts of the Netherlands.
The necklace is in very good condition and of high quality. Marked and tested as 14 karat gold.
