1890s Victorian Amethyst and Peridot, 12k Yellow Gold Necklace

About the Item

This fine and impressive amethyst pendant has been crafted in 12k yellow gold with a 9K yellow gold chain. The pendant incorporates colours* adopted by the women's organisation the 'Women's Social and Political Union' (WSPU), with which the Suffragette Movement was associated. Te pierced decorated, circular design is ornamented with a feature round cut amethyst six claw / prong set within four quatrefoil shaped motifs, each accented with a seed pearl. The central arrangement is encircled by a paired leaf and ball decorated ring, embellished with four individually claw / prong set peridots. A single pear cut amethyst terminal suspends from the lower border of the setting. A ball decoration accents the 9k yellow gold 40.64cm/16" fine link chain, from which the pendant is suspended. The plain outer border is accented with four quatrefoil shaped designs. The necklace secures to the reverse via an integrated push fit clasp. NOTE: The WSPU adopted three colours to represent the Union's core moralities: purple - dignity, green - hope and white - purity This amehtyst pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 12k and 9k gold. The pendant is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds.
