Antique 14K Gold Garnet Dangle Earrings and Necklace, Jewelry Set
About the Item
A magnificent antique 19th century gold jewelry set consisting of earrings and a necklace. The design of the necklace is stunning. The chain of the necklace alternates with a golden flower and a rosette. The flowers are inlaid with four drop-shaped garnets and the rosettes are set with one round garnet, on top of which gold caps are placed to keep the garnet in place. The necklace is provided with a gold safety chain.
The dangling earrings are absolutely beauties, designed with rose cut garnets. The garnet in the earpiece is round-shaped and one drop-shaped garnet in the pendant below the top. The gold is embellished with a rope decor and below the drop pendant five dangling tassels are hung.
These jewels represent a varied and rich historical Dutch cultural heritage, worn by women in some parts of the Netherlands in the 19th century. These type of jewelry were part of the regional costume in the Netherlands.
The necklace and earrings are in very good condition and of high quality.
