Victorian Gold Collar Necklace
About the Item
A Victorian gold collar necklace, consisting of fancy polished yellow gold links and hidden-clasp, marked 15ct gold, circa 1880, measuring approximately 41 x 1.4cm, gross weight 62 grams.
A Victorian gold collar necklace in very good condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as 15ct gold.
This substantial and sophisticated necklace comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. The flexible and buttery gold links have a wonderful sheen and weight to them. Although this piece was created during the Victorian era, it has a timeless feel to it. This collar sits beautifully at the base of the neck and has a small hidden loop in the centre front for optionally attaching a pendant.
