About the Item
This outrageous necklace is one of the most coveted, spectacular pieces we have ever seen. With a whopping 197.00ct total weight in natural black opals from Lightning Ridge, Australia, this two-time AGTA Spectrum Award-winning piece by the John Ford Lightning Ridge Collection has 6 freeform opal gems, exquisitely matched in color and quality with diamond halos and accents throughout the necklace. There's a total weight of 6.27ct in fine, natural round brilliant cut diamonds, and all the gemstones are set in a ~16inch platinum necklace, which is adjustable with a clasp. The opals drop about 6.75 inches from top to bottom. The bottom opal measures 52.70mm x 57.50mm. The necklace weighs roughly 92 grams.
Lightning Ridge Australia is famous for some of the world's most notable opal finds and remains, to this day, the most important region for fine black opals.
