Important Giuliano Necklace
About the Item
An Important Giuliano necklace, consisting of three strands of turquoise-enamelled candy-twist gold links interspersed with pearls, the three strands linked to the centre with painted enamel anthemion motifs, signed C & AG, circa 1900, gross weight 26 grams, illustrated in "Castellani and Giuliano, Revivalist Jewellers of the Nineteenth Century" by Geoffrey C.Munn, plate 152.
This necklace is in very good condition. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold.
This spectacular Giuliano necklace comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Made in the Renaissance revival style that Giuliano was well known for, this necklace is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Featuring three strands of enamelled links set with pearls linked by delicate anthemion motifs and a small, suspended cross, this gorgeous piece is a stunning example of Giuliano’s fine enamel technique. The enamel is of a bright turquoise colour, which is wonderfully complemented by the yellow gold and lustrous pearls. This piece is both delicate and ornate.
