Russian Imperial-era Aquamarine Necklace and Ring, St. Petersburg, c. 1910
About the Item
This rare Russian demi-parure is from the Romanov era, period of Tsar Nicholas II. It comprises a garland style necklace of scrolling and foliate design set with a pear-shaped aquamarine suspended from a cushion-shaped aquamarine and is accented by small aquamarines and rose diamonds, attached to an original rose gold link backchain, and a ring en suite, set with a cushion-cut aquamarine, in a six claw silver topped rose gold mount enhanced with engraved scrolls. The suite is completely original with no additions or alterations.
St. Petersburg, 1908-17. Fully hallmarked.
Ring size 8 ½.
Front jeweled section measures 2 ¼ in. x 2 ½ in. (5.7 x 6.4 cm). In necklace pear shaped aquamarine measures 29 x 10.5 (at the widest) x 6.9 mm and cushion-cut aquamarine measures 12 x 8.5 x 6.2 mm. In ring aquamarine measures 14.8 x 10.50 x 7.10 mm. Including mount, aquamarine stands 3/8 in. (.9 cm) high. Pendant mount measures set with pear-shaped aquamarine measures .8 in. (2 cm) long. Length of necklace 15 ¾ in. (40.1 cm) (2)
