Eighteen Karat Yellow Gold Drop Pendant Necklace with Paraiba Tourmaline
About the Item
This Fig drop pendant necklace is made of 18 karat yellow gold with a pear-cut neon copper bearing water pool paraiba tourmaline from Africa, measuring 10x7 mm and weighing 1.93 carats (with sugar inclusions), as well as one diamond. The gem is designed to be open for the light, and the piece is about 4 cm in length. This collection was featured in Vogue UA.
The idea to create a jewellery collection based on her favourite fruits came to the artist from Berlin, Polya Medvedeva, while she was reviewing fragrances with sweet and fresh notes of fig. The collection has become a mascot for everyone who adores fragrances or sunny places where this fruit grows. The design of this shining gold fig makes the piece a contemporary jewellery item, while the simplicity of the lines and the large dark gem make it a little grungy.
In ancient myths, figs are a symbol of peace, fertility, generosity, and the richness of life. In the Bible, figs are an equivalent of forbidden apples, and the fig leaves were the only clothes for the first humans in the Garden of Paradise.
